Naturally, IntelliMerchant™ allows you to display your logo and set the color combinations, fonts, and background wallpaper images used in your catalog to match those of your company and/or website.  

The shopping cart contents and links to the main menu and help pages are displayed on the bottom of every page.



This page is representative of shopping in an IntelliMerchant™ catalog. Product search navigation
Your customer can easily and rapidly locate products in your catalog reducing customer frustration and promoting increased sales.  When the customer enters descriptive text into the "Search for" textbox and clicks ' Search ' IntelliMerchant™ generates a list of all products whose description or SKU contains the word(s) entered.  Products in this list along with their names, pictures, and price are displayed to the shopper in a tabular format.   If multiple pages are required to hold the results then navigation links between the pages are conveniently displayed at the top and bottom of each page.

Product categories navigation
The complete list of your product categories (which is created hierarchically) is shown in the dropdown box next to the Search area.  When a shopper clicks on a category all of the products within the category are displayed as one or more pages to the shopper.  It is important to note that each product may be easily put into one or more categories.

Clicking on a product's "more details ..." link will bring up that product's ordering page.

Importantly, IntelliMerchant™ provides you with the capability of linking from an external page (e.g., your own site, a newsgroup posting, an email solicitation) directly into a product's ordering page.

Cross-sell navigation
When an item is added to a shopper's cart a list of products designated as 'cross-sell' products is used to generate the product display list pages.  Products populating the 'Cross-sell' products list can be designated as specific products or all products within specified categories whenever a specfic product is ordered.  For example, if a jewelry locket is ordered the cross-sell list may include the piece's matching pendant and all products in the 'silver chains' category.  Similarly the 'cross-sell' product list may be based not on the product put in the basket but rather on its category.  For example, whenever an item from the 'earrings' category is put into the basket, its matching pendant and all products in the earring hook category may be put on the 'cross-sell' list.

The cross-sell page list navigation is the same as that of the product search and category list navigation.

Product display
In addition to the price, S&H weight, and description each product may have pictures and audio-visual files displayed in your catalog.  Typically each product would have a small image displayed, which when clicked would cause a larger, more detailed picture to show.  Clicking on an audio-visual link (not depicted in the example above) would cause the customer to see/hear the file.  This audio-visual file could be a commercial, demonstration, sample, etc.

IntelliMerchant™ has extensive pricing capabilities.  If your product is priced with quantity purchase discounts then the quantities/prices would be displayed instead of the single price as depicted in the example above.

Importantly, if you offer your products at different prices to different classes of customer (e.g., wholesale and retail) each customer will only see the price relevant to their account.  This allows a single catalog to service all of your customer classes.

Product categories
Each product can appear in multiple categories.  Each category that a product is a member of is displayed following its description.  Clicking on a category name brings up shopping display pages just as if they had clicked on the link in the 'choose category:' list at the top of the page.

Customer ordering
When the customer clicks the 'Put item(s) into the Shopping Cart' button, the item is added to the cart with the quantity specified in the "Order" box.  Added items cause the Shopping Cart status area at the bottom of the page to immediately reflect the contents of the cart.  Also, when items are in the cart, the 'Checkout' link is displayed in the status area to remind the customer that they have not finished purchasing their items yet.

Cross-selling
When an item is put into the shopping cart IntelliMerchant™'s cross-selling capabilities are invoked.  The products and/or categories which are associated with the ordered item(s) are used to generate one or more pages of "Suggestions" products.  The cross-sell products and categories can each include their own promotional message.  This serves to increase sales by reminding purchasers of other products which may be of interest to them.  For example, when the customer puts a camera into their shopping basket, a list of accessories such as tripods, cases, battery packs, lenses, and filters could be displayed.

Help text
The catalog pages display 'Help' text to customers in small green type.  This visual reminder assists the customers with questions they may have while remaining unobtrusive to your marketing efforts.  Furthermore, a guide to using your catalog is available from the 'Help' links in the 'Main Menu' and the shopping cart status area at the bottom of the shopping page.

When the catalog recognizes an error condition (e.g., the customer enters a non-numeric order quantity) an error message in red is prominantly displayed directly on the form allowing the customer to rapidly locate and correct the mistake.  (Note, the above example does not depict an error condition.)

This page is the shopper's Main Menu from which your customers perform a variety of account maintenance activities.



See our catalog
The 'View by category or search' link takes the customer to the shopping page described above.  The 'View as a complete list' displays a complete list of abbreviated product descriptions (i.e., does not include pictures, S&H Weights) to the customer.  This 'one-stop shopping' facility is provided as a time-saving ordering form to your repeat customers who are familiar with your products and know what they wish to purchase.

Personalized Account
When a customer has registered (or signed in using their loginid and password) the menu displays their name.  It also allows them to

• Change their account information (name, email address, userid, password, etc.)
• Add/change their method of payment (an account can use more than one payment method)
• Add/change ship-to addresses (an account can use more than one ship-to location)
• Review previous orders (if any)

Until the customer signs in the menu provides a link to the register and log in pages.  IntelliMerchant™ also provides a facility whereby the customer can be notified of their password in case they have forgotten it.

Shopping cart
The number of items and total cost of the contents of the shopping cart are displayed.  The 'View Basket' link allows the customer to remove items from their basket, change the ship-to location, add a purchase order number, include special comments, and change the method of payment used on the order.  The 'Checkout' link takes the customer to a confirmation page where there order is finalized.

Help
Although IntelliMerchant™ is simple and intuitive to use, the 'How to use our catalog' link provides your customer with detailed information.

Remember Us
The 'Bookmark our catalog' link reminds the customer to add your catalog to their browser bookmarks.

The Customer Referral link provides a facility whereby your customer can email their friends and associates.  You can include your own text in the email as well as allow your customer to personalize the message.  You also have the option to monitor the quantity and content of the messages sent.
